21st April, 2008 -
Following on from the latest Captains Meeting, it was announced that the next
season will commence soon after the end of this season, and be in a 'compact
form', to run up to and finish in December. This is to facilitate future leagues
to run from January to January. It
was also mentioned that team fees will remain at £30 per season, with an
additional £1 per registered player charged. This will cover knockout costs,
for which each member will be automatically entered (singles, doubles, and
trebles). It was also suggested that an additional doubles knockout tournament
will take place, comprising of randomly picked partners. Also..
voted on: Bank Holidays will remain match-free. Other teams (from neighbouring
villages) may be joining our league - however, captains voted against further
(more distant) inclusions, such as Hull and Hornsea.
