1. Matches will be played to World 8
Ball rules, of which you should have a copy. (If not, a copy will be supplied by
the League, or you can read them by clicking
here).
2. Unless otherwise stated or agreed
with the League Secretary, all matches shown on the fixture lists will be played
on a Sunday night, and should commence by 8.OOpm.
3. At least 3 registered players
should be at the venue for this time to constitute a team. If it gets to 8.l5pm
and less than 3 team members have arrived, the opponents of the defaulting team
may claim the first frame, they may also claim one frame for each Ten minutes
thereafter that their opponents are late.
4. Registration of players - after
the first match this must be done on the scorecard in the selected line. Please
remember that teams can only register a maximum of 12 players so remember to
sign off a player or the player signed may not be registered. Once the scorecard
has been received the said player is then eligible to play for the team. OTHER
WAYS TO REGISTER PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Registration of new players can
only be permitted up to the halfway stage of the season. Transfers will not be
accepted.
5. Any team playing a non-registered
player will automatically lose all games played by the offending player in that
match. Subsequent violation of this rule may result in suspension of the captain
and total suspension of the team.
6. League matches shall consist of
twelve individual frames. Each frame will be worth one point, which will
determine league positions at the end of the season. 2 Bonus points will be
awarded to the winners. If the score is 6-6 then one bonus point will be awarded
to each team with the responsibility to hand in the card going to the home team.
Failure to hand in the card will result in loss of bonus and/or loss of points.
7. All registered players must be a
minimum age of l6 years old. Entry to the venue will be at the discretion of the
management of the home venue, and the committee will not enter into any dispute
for this reason.
8. The home team shall select their
players out first followed by the away team. The card is to be split into two
halves, first six followed by the following six. A player cannot play more than
twice and can only play one game in each half E.g., the player cannot play
number seven then nine. He/she must play in the first six frames.
9. The home team shall referee all
eleven matches while the away team shall perform the timekeeping duties. The
home team shall break in the first match and subsequent breaks will be
alternate.
10. All Referees shall be fully
conversant with the Rules and enforce them firmly and correctly, pay attention
at all times and ensure that conditions of play are suitable.
11. There will be a Player of the
Year Award; the basis of results will be worked as follows. Each player will be
given one point for a win in each match. If a player is named in the first six
places and again in the last six places, it is his/her first named place that
counts for the Player of the Year Award. If a team has twelve separate players,
each player can win one point towards their total. In the event of a tie for the
player of the year award, then the player's 2nd game in the matches will be
taken into consideration, the the players win percentage and if still tied, a
playoff match will be arranged at a neutral venue. Order of play must be stated
on the results card. Should a player be named in their absence and they have not
arrived by the time they are due to play, that frame will be forfeited with the
opposing team gaining that point.
12. In the event of a dispute, this
should be settled by the team captains and the referee. If the captains cannot
agree, then that game MUST be left unfinished and the match continued. Details
of the dispute must be given to the League Secretary, in writing, within five
(5) days. The decision of the League Committee on the dispute shall be final.
13. The winning team, or the home
team in the event of a draw, shall be responsible for the mailing of the
completed results card. They must ensure that the said card is in the Results
Secretaries possession within SIX days of the match being played (the following
Saturday at 12:00). Any card that arrives late will result in the winning team
having two (2) bonus points in that match deducted (or 1 point for a drawed
game. After a further seven (7) days all points will be lost and the losing team
awarded an 12-0 win.
14. Any team or individual who
behaves in an ungentlemanly manner (abuse to opposing Player at the table,
coaching own player at the table, etc) may be reported to the League Secretary.
If two complaints are made against one team or individual then a committee
meeting will be called to discuss and deal with the said matter.
15. The home licensee shall pay for
the cost of the table for League and all KO Cup matches.
16. There will be no cancelled games.
Teams may play games prior to the published fixture date but teams are not
permitted to cancel games.
17. When a team fails to appear for a
fixture without prior notice, then the non-offending team will be awarded the
match 12-0. Any team failing to appear at venues on more than one occasion
without good reason will risk suspension.
18. Any player previously banned from
a venue will only be allowed to play at that venue with the permission of the
Home Licensee. Failure to complete a fixture for this reason WILL result in
points being awarded to the non-offending team.
19. Points gained will determine
league positions. If teams are level on points in the league, positions will be
determined by the most games won. If still level, then a playoff match will be
arranged at a neutral venue.
20. None attendance of captains
meetings will result in an automatic 5 point deduction. If the captain is unable
to attend, one member of the team should attend on their behalf. Only one
representative per team is permitted to attend and landlords are also welcome.
Questions must be directed through the chair and by way of raising the hand.
21. Acceptance of teams as entries
into the league will be at the discretion of the committee.
22. The committee shall offer
themselves for re-election at the AGM before the start of each season.
23. As the league is officially
affiliated to the English Pool Association, it falls under the umbrella of the
East Yorkshire County Pool Association constitution (updated April 2001),
English Pool Association - Region One (updated January 2001) and the English
Pool Association. All of these constitution rules are applicable with the league
and copies of these will be forwarded at you request.
24. In the team knockout cup matches,
if 2 teams are drawn at home, then the first team takes preference for the home
match and the second team drawn will have to be reversed to be an away fixture.
This process is continuous until all matches have appropriate venues.
25. All rules are mandatory and no
appeal will be considered unless it can be upheld without rule violation.
